Forum of Appius (Ἀππιου Φορον, Appiou Phoron). A town along the Appian Way, 43 Roman miles (39.5 modern imperial miles) from Rome, where Christians from Rome met Paul (Acts 28:15).
The forum was named after Appius Claudius Caecus, who was censor of Rome in 312 bc. The Appian Way is also named for him, as well as the Aqua Appia, the first Roman aqueduct.
