Hyksos and Israel
The first-century historian Josephus tied the expulsion of the Hyksos to the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt (Van de Mieroop, History, 147–49). While some scholars continue to hold this view, others view the Hyksos and Israelites as peacefully coexisting in Egypt, with the Israelites remaining in Egypt for 100–300 years after the expulsion of the Hyksos (Forman, Glimpses, 50–51). The Hyksos introduced the horse into Egypt, yet in Gen 41:43 the Pharaoh gives Joseph a chariot as a gift, indicating horses had already been introduced.
